Urban Network Magazine Presents
Music Biz 101 “Forging A Successful Career In The Music Industry”

The First in a Series of Regional Music Seminars Kicks off in San Diego
As a pre-cursor to its renowned annual Palm Springs, Calif.-based Conference, Urban Network Magazine—the nation’s leading music-entertainment trade and consumer publication—is hosting a series of one-day regional seminars around the country.

The first event will take place in San Diego, Calif., Saturday, February 26, 2005 (beginning at 9am) at the Scottish Rite Center, 1958 Camino Del Rio South.

Many seasoned music industry veterans have signed on to share their expertise with young, aspiring record executives, recording artists, and future entrepreneurs. Panel sessions will include such topics as “Packaging Your Demo & Getting A Record Deal in Today’s Uncertain Climate,” “Getting Your Music & Product To The Masses,” and “Career Opportunities in the Biz.”

Attendees, for a designated fee, will have an opportunity to participate in the independent artist showcase from 6-9:30pm. Industry judges will be on hand to critique the musical entrees.

Kashif, award-winning songwriter-producer, founder of Kashif University and author of the best-selling book, Everything You’d Better Know About the Record Industry, will be the event’s keynote speaker. In addition to his own successful solo career, Kashif has written and produced songs for a bevy of superstar artists including Whitney Houston, Kenny G, Evelyn Champagne King—while his music has been sampled by many of today’s hit recording artists such as Warren G, Nate Dogg and Janet Jackson
