She is also the author of the popular books "The Art of Writing Great Lyrics" and "The Art of Writing Love Songs" in addition to the SongU.com course, LYR 220 Thinking Like A Songwriter. Pamela will answer our questions about the craft and business of songwriting as well as do song and lyric evaluations.
More About Pamela Phillips Oland:
Pamela is a widely performed career lyricist, recently commissioned to write lyrics for two original songs "Christmas All Year Long," and "What If?" for the CBS Hit TV series J*A*G, and who co-wrote with LeVar Burton the theme to "Blizzard" - his recent big screen directorial debut, recorded by rising Canadian Star Aselin Debison.
She wrote the opening and end title song "Digga Digga Dog" to Disney’s "102 Dalmatians," and in fact her works have enjoyed more than 300 recordings, film and television themes and songs.
Frank Sinatra provided her break when he recorded "Monday Morning Quarterback." Her award winning Grammy-nominated #1 song "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" was recorded by Anne Murray and Dave Loggins as well as Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson, and has received well over 1 million airplays.
Other artists who've recorded her lyrics include Aretha Franklin and The Four
Tops, "If Ever A Love There Was" Selena, "Is It The Beat" Peabo Bryson, Berlin, Laura Branagan, Earth Wind and Fire, The Whispers, The Jets, The Spinners, Atlantic Star, Five Star, Brian Wilson, Tiffany, Engelbert Humperdinck, Jennifer Rush, The Jacksons, Gladys Knight, Dusty Springfield, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Reba McIntyre, and diverse others -- pop, rock, R&B, country and gospel.
Pamela and Tom Harriman have recently partnered in a production company called TOPA Productions, and are developing and producing three extremely exciting and diverse young talents.
