I encourage you to read this post to see how those of you with CDs can contribute to some holiday packages being put together for our troops overseas.
"Operation Gratitude is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that sends care packages and letters of support to soldiers deployed overseas.
Our mission is to lift morale, put a smile on a service member's face and express the appreciation of the American people for the sacrifices of themen and women defending our freedom.
To date, we have sent more than 71,500 packages to individually named troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia, Korea and onto ships in the Gulf.
The hundreds of letters we receive back, which you can read in the 'Mail Call' section of our website at http://www.opgratitude.com , are a testament to the positive impact of our program.
The most requested items by the troops are CDs and DVDs. If you have excess inventory that you can donate to us, we would be delighted to include your CDs, DVDs or other promotional products (caps, t-shirts, etc.) in our packages. Many independent artists donated to our previous Drives, and the troops LOVED the CDs they received! Now we are collecting for our 2005 Holiday Drive--we will be sending at least 30,000 packages and we need at least one CD in every
box!
All donations are tax-deductible.
Please send your CDs to:
Operation Gratitude
16444 Refugio Road
Encino, California 91436
Please include your contact information in the package so we can send an acknowledgment for tax purposes.
So, please show a service man or woman that you appreciate their sacrifice, and introduce them to your great music all at the same time!
